Cuarteto Ramilonga is an Argentine Tango social dance band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It began casually as a father and son duo with Julian Ramil (Bandoneon) and Diego Bayani Ramil (Piano). After receiving the opportunity to perform at the 9th Manila Tango Festival and Championship in the Philippines in 2017, they expanded to a quartet with Denise Santos (violin) & Aris Payte (contrabass). After returning back home in SF, the duo decided to continue playing in this formation with several local musician friends, including violinists Yuri Kye, Viki Perenyi, Hereen Oh, Polina Sedukh and bassists Glenn Corteza, Christopher Johnson & Greg Kehret. Their repertoire consists of the well known standard Argentine tangos made popular by the great orchestras of the 1930-1950's and the legendary contemporary tango composer Astor Piazzolla. They enjoy performing at theatre & private events and have an affinity for the MILONGAS - Argentine Tango social dance events.
